Assyrtiko
0,00 € Add to cartDry still wine. Assyrtiko plot is probably the toughest to farm. Really rocky with high inclinations and on top of that the last to harvest in the middle of October, with the risk of losing production due to the increasing rainfalls really high. However the result is rewarding, with the extended ripening period providing an extra fruity dimension to the characteristic Assyrtiko’s mineral core.

Mavrioros
0,00 € Add to cartDry still white wine. Malagousia is an indigenous Greek variety that was revived about 40 years ago. Now its cultivated all over Greece producing very aromatic wines with moderate acidity. At Ktima Kissa taking advantage of our high elevation vineyards we try to express our terroir and produce a more mineral, fresher Malagousia. The grapes are handpicked in 20kg bins and pressed gently as whole clusters (without destemming or crushing) in order to preserve the natural acidity and reduce any bitterness. In addition, the pH also stays low which allows minimum levels of SO2.

That’s why we chose to cultivate it in our high elevation vineyards and the results are rewarding. We harvest mid October which is late even for Moschofilero fighting against the rainfalls and the pressure from diseases . The result is an expressive typical Moschofilero, enhanced by more citrus fruits with a lively mouthfeel based on the crispy acidity.

Pinot Noir
0,00 € Add to cartDry Still Red Wine. A release celebrating the winery’s 70th anniversary. Grapes are hand-harvested and then after partial destemming, are moved into open-top stainless steel fermentors. After a two day cold-soak the fermentation takes place in controlled temperatures. Punch downs (pigeage) are performed daily by hand in order to integrate the cap, meaning all the solid matter floating on top of the fermentor, back into wine. After fermentation and a gentle press, the wine is going into barrels for malolactic fermentation and maturation. Barrels are made from French oak, are medium toasted and mostly second-hand in order to protect the purity of the fruit. After approximately 12 months the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
