In a warm and elegant atmosphere at Mix and Malt, right in the heart of Nicosia, a unique wine tasting and food pairing event took place on Wednesday, October 15th — an evening inspired by Greek Mythology.
The event was organized in collaboration with DrinkforLife Trading Ltd, the exclusive representative of Ktima Panagopoulos in Cyprus. The Mix and Malt team created an outstanding experience of aromas, textures, and flavors, presenting three distinguished wines from the estate, each paired with a specially designed dish that perfectly complemented its character.
The tasting began with Antinoe, a white wine from the Moschofilero Mantinia P.D.O. variety, known for its floral and citrus aromas and refreshing acidity. It was paired with beetroot salad, Florina peppers, and fava with octopus, offering a harmonious and balanced start to the evening.
Next came Asterope, the rosé expression of Moschofilero, P.G.I Arcadia showcasing elegant aromas of rose petals and fresh red fruits. It was beautifully paired with tarama, vegetable pie, anchovy skewers, and marinated whitebait, creating a vibrant combination of flavors that enhanced the wine’s freshness and lively character.
The evening concluded with Cepheus, a single-varietal Merlot P.G.I Arcadia from Ktima Panagopoulos. With its deep red color, aromas of ripe red and black fruits, vanilla, and oak notes from 15 months of barrel aging, it paired exquisitely with roasted pepper stuffed with cheese, fig, crostini, and dark chocolate — a pairing that highlighted the wine’s complexity, balance, and lingering finish.
It was a truly memorable night, filled with flavour, aroma, and the spirit of Greek winemaking, proving once again that wine is culture, and every glass tells a story.
